Supporting ESG Implementation, BRI Danareksa Sekuritas Planted 500 Mangrove Trees in Bali

Bali, February 25th, 2023 - BRI Danareksa Sekuritas ("BRIDS"), a subsidiary of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk ("BRI") and a member of Holding Danareksa, through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program "BRIDS Peduli" conducted activity of planting 500 mangrove trees and releasing birds into the wild located at Dalem Gaing Mas Temple and Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park (TAHURA), Bali.

This activity involves 50 BRI Danareksa Sekuritas employees and was also attended by the Head of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Regional 8 Bali and Nusa Tenggara Giri Tribroto, Head of the Bali Indonesia Stock Exchange Representative I Gusti Agus Andiyasa, President Director of BRI Danareksa Sekuritas Laksono Widodo, Director of Investment Banking Capital Market Kevin Praharyawan and Investment Banking Advisory Director Hendra Hermawan.

Laksono Widodo explained, "This CSR activity with the theme "Plant Together, Live Longer" is a form of the Company's commitment and responsibility towards environmental preservation, which aims to support the implementation of the principles of business and corporate management Environment, Social & Governance (ESG), to align economic, social and environmental interests.”

This planting activity is also a follow-up to the CSR activity of planting 300 mangrove trees carried out by BRI Danareksa Sekuritas in 2022 in the Pantai Indah Kapuk Ecotourism Area, Jakarta.

"Going forward, we will also be committed to continuing to increase the Company's role in environmental preservation, social responsibility and increasing public education and literacy, especially related to capital market education, through various CSR programs, one of which is expanding the reach of environmental preservation in other cities in Indonesia. To ensure that mangrove conservation can run well, BRI Danareksa Sekuritas is working with the Ersanya Gaing Gaingan Fishermen's Group, which is a local farmer group that was also involved in planting mangrove trees at the G20 event in Bali in 2022. This collaboration consists of the process of planting, monitoring (monitoring) growth, and replanting (replanting) trees that die because of pests so that mangrove trees can thrive and the impact of planting is felt in a sustainable manner to the environment and surrounding communities.
