Support Mangrove Conservation and Coastal Rehabilitation, BRIDS Plants 300 Mangrove Trees
Jakarta, 18 June 2022 – BRI Danareksa Sekuritas (“BRIDS”), a subsidiary of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (“BRI”) and a member of Danareksa Holding, through the CSR program of “BRIDS Peduli” has planted 300 mangrove trees located in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) Mangrove Ecotourism Area, Jakarta.
The activity which was attended by BRIDS Acting President Director Hendra Hermawan and involving 30 BRIDS employees was carried out as a form of the Company's concern for mangrove conservation and coastal rehabilitation, which can contribute, among others, to reducing the impact of climate change and preventing abrasion, as well as one of a series of activities to welcome the BRIDS 30th Anniversary.
Hendra Hermawan explained, "BRI Danareksa Sekuritas is committed to continue contributing in supporting environmental conservation, which is in line with the implementation of the Company's Sustainable Finance Action Plan (RAKB) with the aim of aligning economic, social and environmental interests."
"We hope that like mangrove trees that can protect the environment from erosion, BRIDS can also contribute to maintaining the Indonesian economy, especially in developing the Indonesian capital market, which is in line with the Company's 30th Anniversary theme, namely "Contributing to the Development of the Indonesian Capital Market." added Hendra.
To support sustainable mangrove conservation, BRIDS collaborates with KeMANGTEER Jakarta, a non-profit community that focuses on conservation, rehabilitation and conservation of mangroves in the DKI Jakarta area.
With the collaboration between BRIDS and KeMANGTEER Jakarta, the mangrove conservation process will continue from the process of planting, monitoring (monitoring) growth, and replanting (replanting) trees that die due to pests, until mangrove trees can thrive and can provide benefits to the environment.
