Equity Transactions at BRI Danareksa Reach IDR 7.14 Trillion, Check Out the Strategies

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA - PT BRI Danareksa Sekuritas or BRIDS recorded a share transaction value of IDR 7.14 trillion in January 2024. The company has also designed various strategies to increase transactions until the end of the year.

President Director of BRI Danareksa Sekuritas Laksono Widodo, several global sentiments also influenced the company's transactions in January, including the release of US economic data and expectations of the Fed cutting interest rates in 2024.

"According to BEI statistical data, for shares alone, BRIDS transactions amounted to IDR 7.14 trillion in January 2024," said Laksono to Bisnis, Wednesday, (7/2/2024).

Meanwhile, domestic sentiment for BRIDS share transactions was influenced by the release of financial reports for the fourth quarter of 2023 from jumbo banking issuers which posted good performance, as well as expectations of a cut in the Bank Indonesia interest rate or BI rate in 2024.

Laksono said that the prospect of BRIDS transactions in February 2024 is expected to decline slightly due to the large number of holidays. Apart from that, the sentiment that influenced February was the release of economic growth data, the 2024 election, and the announcement of financial reports from issuers.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded Indonesia's economic growth for the whole of 2023 at 5.05% year-on-year (yoy) on Monday (5/2/2024). However, economic growth in 2023 will slow down compared to economic growth throughout 2022 at 5.31%.

Meanwhile, economic growth based on annual calculations grew 5.04% yoy in the fourth quarter of 2023. This achievement slightly increased by 0.08 percentage points from the previous 4.96% in the fourth quarter of 2022.

"Transaction prospects are expected to decline slightly due to the large number of holidays in February. Investors may wait and see to respond to several sentiments, namely global macro sentiment regarding the results of the FOMC meeting, the US dollar index, and crude oil prices," he said .

Meanwhile, several strategies implemented by BRIDS to increase transactions include improving the quality of services provided, including timely market updates for customers and providing relevant analysis.

BRIDS also aggressively provides quality and sustainable education and information, as well as developing innovative products according to investor needs.

"We also carry out effective marketing and promotions and update technology and the BRIGHTS and BRIGHTS easy platforms," he concluded.

Meanwhile, based on Bloomberg data quoted Wednesday, (7/2/2024), the realization of stock transactions from various brokers for the period 29 December 2023 to 31 January 2024 reached IDR 469.59 trillion.

Even though brokers carry out jumbo transactions, the average daily transaction value (RNTH) is still sluggish at around IDR 10.19 trillion year-to-date (ytd). Meanwhile, the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) fell 0.52% ytd to 7,235.15 as of Wednesday, (7/2/2024)
