BRI Danareksa Sekuritas (BRIDS) Optimists that Mutual Fund AUM will increase by 50 percent
Jakarta, February 05th, 2024 – Seeing the potential for significant growth in mutual fund investors in 2023, BRI Danareksa Sekuritas ("BRIDS") in 2024 targets the managed funds or assets under management (AUM) of the Company's mutual fund services to increase by 50 percent or of IDR 100 billion compared to 2023, to IDR 300 billion at the end of the year.
According to data from the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) as of December 2023, the growth of mutual fund investors in Indonesia has shown a significant increase since 2020, with a growth of 18.87%. Demographically, most individual investors are men with a share of 62.33% and total assets reaching IDR 1,150.28 trillion, while the share of female investors is 37.67% with total assets of IDR 240.22 trillion. As for age, investors under 30 years dominate the portion of 56.43%, with total assets reaching IDR 35.09 trillion.
BRIDS Retail & Information Technology Director Fifi Virgantria revealed that the Company is committed to always responding to the needs of mutual fund investors, which are dominated by Millennials and Gen Z investors, through the BRIGHTS application to be able to invest in mutual fund instruments easily, comfortably, supported by complete features, one of which is the “Nabung Reksa Dana” feature, which is a mutual fund purchasing feature that is automated regularly every month according to customer needs to get more optimal results.
"With a variety of mutual fund products on offer, BRIGHTS is a digital platform that can meet people's investment needs. In 2024, we will also launch superior and sophisticated features that will provide convenience and flexibility for investors in optimizing their assets," concluded Fifi.
In line with Fifi, BRIDS President Director Laksono Widodo added that this service, supported by plans to collaborate with 20 Investment Management (MI) this year, as well as the potential for synergy with companies in the BRI Group ecosystem, can contribute significantly to the performance of the securities trading intermediary business Companies, especially from the mutual fund side.
"This year, we are targeting mutual fund AUM growth to increase by 50% compared to 2023 by the end of the year, and to contribute 30% of the total growth in the number of Company customers in 2024," concluded Laksono.
