BRI Danareksa Sekuritas Signs Memorandum of Understanding with BSI
Jakarta, 18 December 2023 – BRI Danareksa Sekuritas (“BRIDS”) officially signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI or IDX: BRIS) to strengthen BSI's sharia capital market business, coinciding with Investor and Client Appreciation activities with the theme Growing Together Towards 2024, located at BSI head office, The Tower, Jakarta.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding was carried out by the Director of Treasury & International Banking BSI Moh. Adib and Director of Investment Banking Capital Market BRIDS Kevin Praharyawan, witnessed by all BSI key stakeholders consisting of State Institutions, Investment Managers, Insurance, Securities and Pension Funds.
BRIDS Investment Banking Capital Market Director Kevin Praharyawan revealed that through the signing of this memorandum of understanding, in the future BRIDS will become one of the securities companies that supports BSI in carrying out the company's various businesses in the sharia capital market.
"We hope that this collaboration can certainly produce satisfactory results, where BRIDS contributes to having a positive impact on BSI's business, especially in the field of sharia capital markets which is currently developing very rapidly," added Kevin.
Meanwhile, Director of Treasury & International Banking BSI Moh. Adib, added that to strengthen synergy with investors and clients in encouraging the growth of the sharia capital market ecosystem in Indonesia, BSI also signed a memorandum of understanding with several partners, one of which is PT BRI Danareksa Sekuritas (BRIDS) in the context of strengthening the capital market business.
PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) managed to record total assets under custody (AUC) of almost IDR 83 trillion as of November 2023 or an increase of 75x since it started operations. Apart from that, BSI has also administered the issuance of sukuk worth a total of IDR 4.1 trillion. This is a concrete form of BSI's commitment to deepen and strengthen the sharia capital market in Indonesia.
Adib also explained that BSI is always committed to continuing to enliven the sharia capital market industry by providing various instruments in both primary and secondary markets such as mutual funds, sukuk, and so on. This can be seen from the volume of sukuk transactions as of November 2023, where BSI succeeded in recording a volume of sukuk transactions with customers of IDR 10.6 trillion or an increase of 221.2% (yoy).
From the treasury business side, forex transactions in November 2023 reached USD 2.01 billion (an increase of 7.98% YoY) while sukuk transactions with customers up to November 2023 reached IDR 10.58 trillion (an increase of 221.21%). The number of customers served has also increased rapidly, reaching 313 NoAs as of November 2023 (an increase of 108.67%).
